How to Order

Here's how to order a wheel or wheelset from Hands on Wheels:

Once you've decided you are interested in ordering a wheel or set, send me an email ([myemail]) or call (415 215 0372). We'll discuss the kind of riding you'll be doing with the wheel(s), the load (rider weight plus equipment) the wheels will be carrying, the width of tire you'll be using, and your expectation(s) regarding the "feel" of the wheel(s).

After a bit of back and forth (usually a good thing!), we'll arrive at a basic agreement regarding your wheel(s), and we can then move on to hub, spoke and rim choices. Elsewhere on the site, there are lists of hubs and rims immediately available. Many other choices are available, though there are some that I cannot acquire. Those can be easily ordered by you and shipped to me for the build.

Once we have agreed on the price (I have not listed fixed prices for anything other than spokes @$50 per wheel and labor @$75 per wheel, as component prices are constantly changing) and details of the build, I will ask for a 50% deposit (check or Paypal), and when I receive that, I will build the wheels, and when the last half is paid, ship them to you via UPS Ground. There is a $40 flat-rate charge for a wheelset ($30 for a single wheel). Upgrading to 3- or 2-day, while quite expensive, is possible, as well. (All wheels are subject to California sales tax within California).

Any problems that occur after you've received your wheels are covered by my "guaranteed for the life of the rim" guarantee (see FAQ's for more details).
